Documentation / Getting Started / Step 3
Create a Client Secret
Generate the credential that lets Cirrova authenticate as your registered app.
Create the secret
Inside the app you registered in the previous step, navigate to:
Certificates & secrets → Client secrets → New client secret
Give the secret a description (e.g. Cirrova) and choose an expiry that suits your rotation policy — 12 or 24 months is typical.
Click Add.
Copy the secret value
Azure shows the secret Value immediately after creation. Copy it now.
This is the only time Azure will display the secret value. If you navigate away without copying it, you will need to delete this secret and create a new one.
Keep the value somewhere safe — you'll paste it into Cirrova in Step 5. Do not share it or commit it to source control.
Plan for expiry
When the secret expires, Cirrova will no longer be able to ingest data until a new secret is created and entered. Make a note of the expiry date and set a reminder to rotate it a few weeks in advance.
